Sherry Brown of the Piedmont Women's Center was working with a woman from a part of town that was unfamiliar to her.  She met Pastor Windell Rodgers of Mt. Calvary Baptist Church at a GreenvilleConnect meeting.  Guess where Mt. Calvary was located?  You're right; not only was it in the Green Avenue neighborhood where the woman lived, but Windell said that his church would love to reach out to and support this woman.  And they did!

Since being involved with GreenvilleConnect, Pastor Vardrey Fleming of Bethel Bible Missionary Church has seen new volunteer groups partnering with their ministries in West Greenville.  Just one example is that the Fellowship of Christian Athletes helped run a basketball camp as part of the church's summer program.  A number of those who helped make this possible were a group of volunteers from Grace Church on the East Side as well as a couple of Furman University star players.  Worthy of note is that a story about this partnership was featured in FCA's national magazine!  Local businessman and GreenvilleConnect participant Mike Chibbaro who attends Grace and volunteers with FCA not only helped to coach this team, he also got to write the article. In early March 2005, GreenvilleConnect helped gather several couples from six churches for training in discipleship and marriage mentoring.  This was in partnership with FamilyLife and CityConnect, two ministries of Campus Crusade for Christ.  These couples attended the annual FamilyLife conference that was held in Greenville this May where several hundred people learned about God's plan for marriage.  In the weeks following the conference, these specially equipped couples made themselves available to meet with people to counsel those that prayed to receive Christ or to help couples that wanted to invest in their marriages on an on-going basis.  The churches that recruited couples for this training included First Presbyterian Church, Greenville; CrossRoads Community Church, Simpsonville; Grace Church, Greenville; Taylor's First Baptist, Taylors; Discover Church, Simpsonville; and Westminster Baptist, Westminster.
