Meet others with a burden for Greater Greenville, and learn how you can connect with individuals, churches, and ministries who share your interests and want to cooperate with others. This monthThe Nations are at Our Doorstep Tuesday, February 21, 12:00-1:30 The Handlebar 304 E. Stone Ave. Greenville is no stranger to multi-cultural diversity. Just look around and you see faces that resemble the nations of Europe, Asia, and Africa. How do we respond to these foreign faces when we encounter them? Do we welcome them with the love of Jesus or do we silently send them home with the look on our faces? Join GreenvilleConnect for our February Community Luncheon and hear from two groups that are trying to reach the Nations right in our own backyard. Joshua’s Way is a one-on-one relationship building ministry to international students in the Upstate. They work with students from Furman, Clemson, English Language Services, Greenville Tech, Agape, and Wofford. Their goal is to share the love and message of Jesus while ministering to students from Iraq, Saudi Arabia, Egypt, Pakistan, India, Kenya, Cameroon, China, Japan, Europe and Latin and Central America. The Ethnic American Network (EAN), a coalition of over 70 evangelical denominations and agencies will sponsor the annual Ethnic Ministries Summit in Spartanburg April 19-21 in conjunction with the Southeast Regional City Impact Roundtable. The theme for the event is: “Gather the Nations into Community.” Five plenary sessions will encourage attendees to reflect more deeply on key components of the theme. Evening sessions include multi-ethnic worship services in English with translation. Speakers and testimonies from diverse ministry practitioners will provide a central context for the summit experience during 60 breakout session options with tracks pertaining to specific ethnic groups. Come and hear Amy & Florin Palaghia share about Joshua’s Way and Jim Goodroe share his vision for this extraordinary event taking place in the Upstate. Please feel free to invite others.
